OCD can be a very debilitating but treatable disorder. OCD includes the presence of obsessions (intrusive thoughts, feelings, sensations, urges) and compulsions (repetitive acts, either mental or physical) which are done to relieve the discomfort and anxiety associated with obsessions. I work with all subtypes of OCD using Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). I also treat body focused repetitive behaviors (BFRBs) like skin picking and hair pulling through a type of treatment called Habit and Reversal Therapy (HRT).

Whether you have experienced a recent traumatic loss or event, or have experienced ongoing trauma, we will work together using an approach that aligns with your current needs and values to help redevelop a sense of safety in your body. Such approaches may include dance/movement therapy, sensorimotor psychotherapy, or narrative exposure therapy.

You may be experiencing stress related to work or family or are juggling a lot of things on your plate. We will work together to build a toolbox of coping skills to help you better manage life’s big or small stressors.

MY approaches
-
Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP)
ERP is an evidenced based therapy for the treatment of OCD that draws on cognitive-behavioral approaches to help address your core fears.
-
DANCE / MOVEMENT THERAPY (DMT)
DMT is a body based approach to therapy that helps an individual integrate the body, mind and spirit. DMT can be used with all ages and no movement or dance experience is required. I am additionally trained two other body based approaches, including sensorimotor psychotherapy and yoga informed therapy and incorporate mindfulness into my practice
-
SUPPORTIVE TALK THERAPY
I draw on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and relational-cultural therapy approaches to assist you in working towards living a life in alignment with your values. I aim to foster mutual empathy within the therapeutic relationship
-
Healing Centered / Social Justice Informed
I work from a healing centered and social justice informed lens. It is important that we acknowledge the impact and role of systemic oppression in our world and how this affects our mental wellbeing.
